Whether you are using Windows 2000 or Windows Vista you will face a common problem - disk fragmentation. Disk Defragmentation occurs on all computers running Windows. Windows has a built in disk defragmenter but it is too slow to use comfortable.
Auslogics Disk Defrag is designed to defragment your hard disk quickly and safely. Defragmentation has never been easier. Just select the partition to defragment and click next. Then watch as your hard disk gets defragmented before your very eyes. The whole hard disk will be color coded so you can see which part is currently being defragmented. You can either pause or abort the defragmentation progress at any time and it will stop in an instant. Once the process has been completed it will show you a summary of the remaining fragmentation of the selected partition. You can also opt to view a detailed HTML report.
With its simple design, speed and effectiveness, Auslogics Disk Defrag is possibly the best free hard disk defragmentation tool available. Although it is not very customizable, it is the right tool to speed up a slow system.
Advantages
  • It is free.
  • It is quick.
  • It displays detailed reports when needed.
Disadvantages
  • It is not very customizable.

For a while, I had both auslogics and IoBit defrag programs on my system. I had used Auslogics for quite some time (like years - not days). It was efficient and fast but did not have the optimize and "shut down" the computer when done options. So IoBit was on my system for those features. So I would run auslogics for the most part and would run smart defrag occasionally to take advantage of the optimize feature. The new Auslogics has included an optimize and a "shutdown" after running (for the cleanup and clearout crowd). Ergo, I removed IoBit smart defrag and still remain faithful to auslogics defrag. Try it - you might like it.
